Road Show #1: The Review

Sep 14, 2011

This year's Code Jam features three Road shows. The first, titled "Who is Teleios?" was presented on Tuesday 6th September at the School of Business and Computer Science. We were at the SBCS Trincity campus. In attendance were representatives from SBCS mentoring team, members of the teaching staff and their production team.

The presentation was facilitated by Sean Hinds and Keisha Mark. It took two broad paths.

Firstly, we shared on applications that have been built by Teleios. Spanning our first foray into commercial development, with Project Insight, large-scale corporate websites and Interactive SMS Applications. You can get more detail on these applications here.

Secondly, we spent a bit of time talking about the Teleios ethos, environment and culture. At Teleios, "Software to run the world" is far more than a catch-phrase. It is the statement that underlines our pursuit of innovative solutions and our unerring commitment to quality. It was in this context that we also discussed the "why" of Code Jam. Our efforts for this year's Code Jam particularly are around real world software development - that the practise of software development has with it issues of robustness, persistence and excellence. The participants seemed really enthused by the possibility of building these world-class applications from right here.

We concluded this road show with a look at the past winners of Code Jam.  Every prize winner of Code Jam presented solid solutions that are worthy of further consideration.  It was a great opportunity to share with the mentors/lecturers at SBCS on who Teleios is and what rewards can be found by guiding teams to participate in the competition.

We're looking forward to a lot of good submissions involved with Using information technology to facilitate development in a multi-state region.
